OostCampus: construction begins

Luc Vanparys, alcalde de Oostkamp, presidió el jueves (27-01-2011) la reunión para iniciar oficialmente la construcción de nuestro proyecto OostCampus, el nuevo Ayuntamiento y Centro Cívico de este municipio de Flandes Occidental (Bélgica).
La estrella de la reunión fue un modelo a escala de las burbujas (1:10), presentado por el contratista CEI de Meyer, una de las mayores empresas de la construcción en Bélgica. El modelo fue producido con el mismo material y tecnología que se empleará en la realidad, GRG yeso reforzado con fibra de vidrio. Cada burbuja del modelo está en una fase distinta del proceso de acabado.

Luc Vanparys, the Mayor of Oostkamp, presided on Thursday (27-Jan-2011) the kick-start meeting for the construction of our project OostCampus, the new City Hall and Civic Centre for this municipality in West Flanders (Belgium).
A scale model (1:10) of the bubble construction was presented by the contractor – CEI de Meyer, one of the largest building companies in Belgium. The model was produced with the same material and technology as the real thing, GRG Glass Reinforced Gypsum. Each bubble is in a different stage of finishing, showing the process.

OostCampus: constructie begint.
Luc Vanparys, de Burgemeester van Oostkamp, zat donderdag de kick-start meeting voor ter constructie van ons project OostCampus, het nieuwe Bestuurs- en Dienstencentrum voor de gemeente te West-Vlaanderen (België).
Een schaalmodel (1:10) van de bubbel constructie werd door de aannemer voorgesteld - CEI de Meyer, één van de grootste bouwbedrijven in België.
Het model werd uitgevoerd in hetzelfde materiaal en technologie als het werkelijke, GRG Glass Reinforced Gypsum. Elke bubbel is in een andere staat van afwerking, ter illustratie van het proces.

TSM3 nominado para el Mies van der Rohe

Nuestro proyecto TSM3 ha sido nominado para el premio Mies van der Rohe 2011. El galardón es concedido por la Unión Europea y la Fundación Mies Van der Rohe y tiene como objetivo reconocer la calidad arquitectónica de las obras terminadas en Europa entre 2009 y 2010.

Our project TSM3 has been nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2011. The prize is awarded by the European Union and The Mies Van der Rohe Foundation and aims to recognize the quality of architectural production in Europe between 2009 and 2010.

MWD building works begin

Comienzan ya las obras de construcción de nuestro proyecto Academie MWD, Academia de Danza, Palabra y Música de Dilbeek (Bélgica). El contrato de obras fue adjudicado oficialmente a la empresa Kumpen con sede en la ciudad flamenca de Hasselt. La constructora tiene numerosas obras de calidad, como podemos ver en estas fotografías referenciadas de su web.
La primera reunión de obra está fijada para el 4 de noviembre. La fecha de la Primera Piedra se anunciará próximamente.

Building works for our project Academie MWD, the Academy for Music, Word and Dance in Dilbeek (Belgium) will begin shortly. The building contract was officially awarded to Kumpen, the long-established company based in the Flemish city of Hasselt. The construction firm has a long and wide experience building quality projects, some of which we can see in the pictures below, linked from their website.
The first on-site meeting will take place on the 4th of November. The date for the Foundation Stone ceremony will be announced shortly.

Binnenkort starten de bouwwerken van ons project Academie MWD, de Academie voor Muziek, Woord en Dans in Dilbeek, België. Het bouwcontract werd officieel toegekend aan Kumpen, het welgevestigde bedrijf uit de stad Hasselt. De bouwfirma heeft een lange en uitgebreide ervaring in het bouwen van kwaliteitsvolle projecten, waarvan we enkele kunnen zien hieronder, gelinkt met hun website.
De eerste on-site bijeenkomst zal plaatsvinden op 4 November. De datum voor de Eerste Steenlegging zal binnenkort worden aangekondigd.

Project Presentations

Mañana a las 13:30 Vanessa Cerezo hará una presentación de nuestro proyecto OostCampus, Ayuntamiento y Centro Cívico de Oostkamp (Bélgica) en CIBARQ 2010 - IV Congreso Internacional de Arquitectura, Ciudad y Energía - que tendrá lugar en Pamplona. El proyecto forma parte de la exposición que acompaña al evento, como anunciamos anteriormente.

Asimismo, el 7 de octubre Carmina Casajuna participó en el debate Mesas de Arquitectura Plus Sostenible celebrado en Madrid y organizado por el Grupo Vía. Próximamente podremos ver aquí la publicación del evento, en el que Carmina explicó nuestros criterios y prácticas de sostenibilidad.

Tomorrow at 13:30 Vanessa Cerezo will give a presentation of our project OostCampus, Oostkamp's City Hall and Civic Center in CIBARQ 2010 - IV International Congress of Architecture, City and Energy - that will take place in Pamplona (Spain). The project is also shown in the main exhibition of the event, as we announced earlier.

Also, the 7th of October Carmina Casajuna participated in the debate Mesas de Arquitectura Plus Sostenible in Madrid organized by Grupo Vía. Soon we will see here a publication of the event, where Carmina explained our practices and criteria for sustainability.

Morgen om 13:30 zal Vanessa Cerezo zal een presentatie geven over ons project OostCampus, Gemeentehuis en Burgelijk Centrum in CIBARQ 2010 - IV Internationaal Congres van Architectuur, Stad en Energie - die zal plaatsvinden in Pamplona (Spanje). Het project wordt ook getoond in de hoofdtentoonstelling van het evenement, zoals we eerder aangekondigd.

Ook op 7 oktober heeft Carmina Casajuna deelgenomen aan het debat Mesas de Arquitectura Plus Sostenible in Madrid, georganiseerd door Grupo Vía. Binnenkort zullen we hier een publicatie van het evenement zien, waar Carmina onze werkwijze en criteria toegelicht heeft voor duurzaamheid.

Fresh 2010

Mañana se inaugura en Matadero Madrid la exposición comisariada por Ariadna Cantis Fresh 2010, una selección de diferentes estudios madrileños con ideas arriesgadas y propositivas, donde se incluyen algunos de nuestros proyectos como Aves de paso, Oostcampus o TSM3. Simultáneamente a este evento se inaugurará el site oficial de Fresh que podrás ver pinchando aquí.

Fresh 2010, an exhibition curated by Ariadna Cantis that puts together different offices from Madrid with risky and purposeful ideas, opens tomorrow in Matadero Madrid. Camaleón Living in Loading Madrid 2010

El jueves 8 comienza el III Congreso Internacional de Arquitectura Construtec-COAM. Loading Madrid 2010, una de las actividades de la convención, es una muestra interactiva que ofrece una visión de la futura imagen de Madrid e incluye nuestro proyecto Camaleón Living en Rivas Vaciamadrid (ver item 021 en el mapa).

Thursday the 8th is the launching day of the III International Congress of Architecture Construtec-COAM. A main feature in the Congress will be Loading Madrid 2010, an interactive display offering a vision of the future image of Madrid, which includes our project Camaleón Living in Rivas Vaciamadrid (see item 021 on the map).
